Elfa Weight Capacity / Elfa Weight Limit

This is ridiculously hard to find! It's also complex and difficult to follow/calculate, but extremely useful.

After loading up brand new Elfa shelves with row upon victorious row of books, transferred from old-fashioned, low to the ground, free standing home depot shelves, creaks and scary sounds began emanating from the wall near the top track as new books went on.

In the end though, if these estimates and specifications are accurate, they're under capacity.

http://64.78.63.28//materials_files/elfa%20Weight-load.pdf:

• 125 lbs. per bracket
• 100 lbs. per lineal[sic] foot
• 500 lbs. distributed vertically between 24"
width of the vertical standards

Also very useful:

http://www.cornerhardware.com/home_improvement_articles/knockdown_bookcases/34:
Keep in mind that paperback books weigh about 7 1/2 pounds per linear foot, hardcover books 13 pounds, magazines 26 pounds and reference works as much as 34 pounds per linear foot.
